These last few bottles of the 2014 vintage have become rather 'tired', so have been reduced to make way for fresh stocks.
A wine that seems to suit everybody, sunshine in colour, an enjoyable floral bouquet, with perfect flavours that balance so well with so many dishes and festive occasions.
After a poor, rainy summer, we were delighted to see the sun again in early September. This outstanding sunshine enabled us to make up for the delay in the growth cycle and cool temperatures in August. We were very happy with the quality of the grapes and think that 2014 will be a good vintage for our red, dry white, and sweet white wines.
Through the Seasons in the vineyard and cellar:
The leaves are falling and the vines are taking a rest. The time has come for Chloé, Lhouari, Carole, Fabien, and Bruno to put on their boots to go out and prune.
19petitePruning continues. According to tradition, the official start is on the 22nd of January – the feast of Saint Vincent, the patron of winegrowers. The folk saying is, à la Saint-Vincent l'hiver s'en va ou il reprend ("on St. Vincent's Day, winter either goes away or settles in").
As pruing draws to a close, our team is starting to replace or repair any defective wires of vine stakes. In the cellar, Laura et Stéphane is busy topping up the barrels (filling up the air space left by evaporating wine to avoid oxidation), racking (separating the wine from its lees), and bottling older vintages and dry white wines.
