Quedrada Seca, Limari Valley, Chile Chile

Sadley this is a BIN END, as its no longer being imported by Concha y Toro
This wine has been aged in stainless steel tanks for 5 months giving us a clean and bright light yellow with green hues in colour. It has an aroma of gooseberries and green chilies, with citric notes and a subtle mineral touch. On the palate it is very fresh, full-bodied and long, with a mineral and citric persistence.

The Limari Valley is one of the driest places on Earth, so dry it’s where they tested the lunar landings, to make sure all the equipment would work in the heat. Studies show the soil here has a mineral intensity on a par with Montrachet in Burgundy.
From the South Peruvian city of Cusco the Inca Empire grew along the Andes Mountains, stretching their boundaries over 5,000 kilometres. The Limarí Valley belonged to what the Inca’s called the Southern Empire, a territory renowned for its production of minerals such as copper and gold, as well as semi-precious stones like turquoise; the stone of the Incan royalty.
The influence of this civilization is still visible today throughout the Limarí Valley. Buildings made of river stones,  typical of Inca architecture, can be found at various sites within the valley.
In Quechua, the Inca language, Maycas means “arable lands” this concept, together with that of Inti, their sun, were the pillars of the Inca culture. To determine agricultural cycles, the Incas created their famous solar calendar, which has transcended over centuries to reach us today.
